Former Mesa FamilySearch Library building |
During a recent short visit to Mesa, Arizona, we took the opportunity to visit the site of the renovation of the Mesa, Arizona Temple of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and included checking out the status of the building formerly used by the Mesa FamilySearch Library. The building is still standing and enclosed by a construction fence. The area in front of the building is being used for construction materials storage.

Meanwhile, construction on the Mesa Temple renovation is proceeding. The entire grounds of the Temple have been removed including the Visitors Center. Here are two photos of the construction.

On Main Street, across from the Temple to the east, the entire section of houses and buildings have been removed for the construction of a new Visitors Center and Family History Center. There will also be some commercial space and some apartments or condos.

If you are wondering, yes, it was sprinkling a little and the weather was perfect. We are planning on returning periodically to the area and so we might be able to provide an update sometime.
No Christmas lights this year I guess. Welcome almost home.
ReplyDeletewow! That is a massive transformation!
ReplyDeleteMakes me sad to see construction and everything shut down...but my neighbors and I know someday...someday it will be completed. Just hard to live in the in-between stage!
