An Interesting Timeline of the History of FamilySearch

https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/fun-facts-familysearch/
This post entitled, "24 Fun Facts about FamilySearch You May Not Know." is really a very interesting timeline of the history of FamilySearch previously the Genealogical Society of Utah. Some of the facts in the post have been difficult to date and others have not been previously made publically available. You can dig some of the facts out of this book that is currently out-of-print but used copies are still available online.

Allen, James B, Jessie L Embry, and Kahlile B Mehr. Hearts Turned to the Fathers: A History of the Genealogical Society of Utah, 1894-1994. Provo, Utah: BYU Studies, Brigham Young University, 1995.

A quick look on Amazon.com shows that the book is now available on Kindle and in hardcover from around $6.00. (Remember, you can support The Family History Guide Association by making purchases through Smile.Amazon.com). However, the timeline in this post goes well beyond the 1995 publication date of the book.

If you look at the facts in the post, you will see that there is some issue with the date that the name "FamilySearch" first began to be used. The earliest date on a State of Utah Business search for "FamilySearch" is 2007.

It would be interesting to have an up-to-date history of the Genealogical Society of Utah and FamilySearch from 1995 to the present.
