Oral Histories

There is something remarkable about hearing an oral history of an ancestor. Written stories do not covey the same sense of immediacy as do hearing the voice of a person long dead. The Brigham Young University Family History Library has a series of videos on YouTube.com. One of the most recently uploaded video is a 12 minute highlight of the methods and sources for making effective oral histories by Ann Tanner, my wife.

If you go to the BYU Family History Channel you can find dozens of additional short and long videos on a variety of genealogy subjects.
